Thomas J. Hynes' Obituary
Thomas J. Hynes passed away Thursday, May 11, 2023, at the Dexter Health Care Skilled Nursing Facility in Dexter, Maine, where he had been a resident since 2022.
Tom was born on November 4, 1965, and was the son of the late James F. Hynes and the late Gail R. (Piscopo) Hynes. Tom grew up in Georgetown and graduated from Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School in 1983. Tom always had an affinity for carpentry, and he was exceptionally talented. He worked as a carpenter and was a member of The New England Regional Council of Carpenters, Local Union 26 for many years.
When he lived in Georgetown, Tom was a member of the Georgetown Scuba Rescue Team, a Lieutenant in the Erie Fire Department, and later a member of the Central Fire Department. He loved to hunt and fish with his friends and enjoyed ATVs, Scuba Diving, Plum Island, Crystal Lake, and all things outdoors.
Tom moved to Millinocket, Maine in 2008 and loved living there. He found good friends and enjoyed his life in such a beautiful place.
Tom is survived by his sister Kelly Hynes and his brother James Hynes. He was predeceased by his sister Alice Hynes. He is also survived by his nieces Alicia Bailey, Angela Cote, Chloe Saraiva, Abigail Hynes, and his nephew Andrew Hynes, as well as several grand nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 19, 2023, at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, 35 Merrimack St., North Andover. Tom will be buried in the Harmony Cemetery, 66 Central Street, Georgetown on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 9:00 a.m.
