Robert C. DiBurro's Obituary
Robert C. DiBurro, 76, passed away on Monday, December 4th, 2023, at his residence in Haverhill, MA. Having battled lengthy illnesses, he passed into eternity as he slept.
Robert (or “Bobby” as he was known to so many friends), was born in Lawrence, MA on August 09, 1947, the last of 5 children born to Carmine and Alice (Saliba) DiBurro, formerly of Oak Street in Lawrence, MA.
He attended Lawrence Schools and graduated from Lawrence High School in 1965. In his youth Bobby was a gifted athlete, particularly as a baseball and softball player.
Bobby worked as a Production Specialist for Honeywell Computer Systems, at the historic Wood Mill Complex in Lawrence, MA and later as a Court Officer in the Lawrence District Court.
Upon leaving the court system, he then worked in a variety of retail sales roles in local furniture and jewelry. Most recently, he volunteered at Haverhill Housing Authority’s food pantry and ran bingo there each week.
Bobby was admired for his quick wit and unique sense of humor that made him many friends and made so many people smile. One of Bobby’s greatest joys was to make and provide jewelry as gifts to his family, his friends, and especially his many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and great-grand nieces and nephews. He often gifted jewelry to complete strangers such as waitstaff simply to see their day brightened by his generosity and love for others.
Bobby had many strong and lasting ties to friends made in childhood, as well as those he met along his life journey, bonds that grew to become " family".
Robert is survived by his sisters MaryAnne Clark of Salem, NH and Dorothea Whittaker of Glen, NH. He is also survived and will be greatly missed by his many adoring Nieces and Nephews and their families.
Robert was predeceased by his parents Carmine and Alice, his brothers Peter DiBurro of Lawrence, MA, and James DiBurro of Amesbury, MA, and his nephew Brian DiBurro of Haverhill, MA.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to ones favorite charity.
