Mary Lydia (Sousa) Carvello's Obituary
Mrs. Mary Lydia (Sousa) Carvello, 93, a resident of Salem, New Hampshire passed away peacefully on Friday, September 9th, 2011 at the Salem Haven Nursing Home. She was born on January 30, 1918 in Lawrence, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Antonio J. and Sophie (Cunha) Sousa. Mary was educated in the Lawrence schools. She had worked at I.T.T. Semi-conductors as an Assembler for 10 years. She was an attendant of Sts. Mary and Joseph Parish at Mary Queen of Peace Church in Salem, New Hampshire. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking , and dancing. Her family members include her husband Joseph J. Carvello of Salem, NH, and her son: Alan J. Carvello and his wife Barbara E. (Swett) Carvello of Raymond, NH. Mary is also survived by 7 Grandchildren, 3 Great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. She was also sister to the late Daniel P. Sousa and Theresa M. Sousa. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass on Wednesday, September 14th, 2011 at 10:30 A.M.. in Sts. Mary and Joseph Parish at Mary Queen of Peace Church, 200 Lawrence Rd., Salem, NH. Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery, also in Salem, NH. at the request of the family, there are no calling hours.
