Although we were not on the same page politically, I appreciated Mark's dedication to quality science and education. We have worked with and known Mark and Mary Anne for many years. It has been an honor getting to know both of them. Mark has been an inspiration to us by showing us how to focus and be determined to love his country and the freedom that has come with it. We were able to work with Mark on his first run for congress where he was determined to stand up for the principles that this country was built on without being intimidated or backing down. We also spoke at events he sponsored and were interviewed on his radio program where we were so like-minded that the conversation flowed between us even though we did not rehearse any conversation at any time. You could feel the commitment he had to Mary Ann and know that he had that same commitment to the country that he loved. We hope that we can have that same commitment to each other and to our country, which is the greatest country on earth. We owe it to Mark to help fulfill his legacy and to keep his dream alive. I'll never forget the day that Mark and MaryAnne knocked on our door to ask us to get involved in a new group he was forming in our town. We became instant friends and he sparked an interest in politics that I never had before. We miss your smile, leadership, tenacity, humor, and above all your friendship.
