Katherine Elizabeth Phair's Obituary
Katherine Elizabeth Phair,100 years old, of Danville NH, comfortably passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday June 24, 2012 after a brief illness. Known as Kay or Meme to her very large family and numerous friends, she was born in Methuen Mass and spent most of her life on Prospect Hill in Lawrence. Kay was a very giving person who cherished her seven children & the many others she cared for over the years. She was very proud of her work in the Shawsheen Mills in her younger years and was an avid candlepin bowler well into her late 80?s. Her favorite pastime was rooting for the Red Sox and in particular Pedro Martinez and Carl Yastremski. One of her favorite photos is of her with many members of the 67 Red Sox team. In 2000, Kay moved to Danville NH where she lived with her daughter & caregiver Patricia Ball and her loving grandchildren Joyce and James Regan and family. Katherine was predeceased by her husband Francis W. Phair, sons Francis Jr. and William and sisters Rose Long, Rita Cote, Gertrude Wooles and brother John Kongoian. She leaves behind daughters Geraldine and her husband Robert Byrne of Lake Havasu, Arizona, Patricia (Phair) Ball of Danville NH, Katherine (Phair) Minahan of Hudson NH, sons, Alan J Phair and his wife Janet of Atkinson NH, and Robert J. Phair of Hampton NH, 27 Grandchildren, 48 Great Grandchildren and 11 Great Great Grandchildren and many close nieces, nephews and cousins. A special thank you is given to the wonderful assistance given by Mae Garcia and the Rockingham Hospice Staff. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence MA. Visiting hours will be held on June 26th, 2012, Tuesday evening from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 27th, 2012 at 10:30 am at Mary Queen of Peace Church in Salem, New Hampshire.
