Joseph W. Ford's Obituary
Joseph W. Ford, 86, of North Andover, MA. passed away on January 7, 2025 in Haverhill, MA. Joseph was raised in the Merrimack Valley and spent many Sundays watching TV at Ford Tavern in Lawrence, a family-owned business. He attended the University of Vermont where he was a member of the football team. He often shared fond memories of playing football and parties at the frat house. He later went to Northeastern University where he received his Masters in Mathematics. He went on to teach Calculus and AP math classes at Chelmsford High School throughout his career. He led the Math Team at Chelmsford High School to many math championships. He retired from Chelmsford High School in the early 2000s. Although he retired, he continued to develop calculus problems and solved them for fun. Joe was predeceased in death by his parents William and Myrtle Ford and his wife Pamela Ann
(Bauchman) Ford. He is survived by nieces Amanda Robinson (husband William), of Methuen; Jaimie Blurton of North Carolina: Shanna Bauchman of Haverhill; Jennifer Bauchman of Methuen; and Kristy Moreno (husband Jose) of Texas. He loved his 8 great nieces and nephews and his 4 great, great nieces and nephews. Joseph loved his family near and far. He was an exceptional Mathematician, a loyal friend, a kind neighbor and-a devout Catholic. He attended St. Mary's Church in Lawrence in his younger years, including where he married the love of his life, Pamela. In his later years, he was an active participant at St. Patrick Parish in Lawrence, where he served as an usher for many years. Joe is most remembered by all for his love of college football. He rooted for two teams, Michigan and any team that beat Ohio State. He could often be heard "coaching" the game through the TV or humming the Michigan fight song. He and Pam would host an annual New Year's Day Open House. Pam would provide food and drinks and Joe would produce as many as 3 TVs to watch all the games. He always had a radio for "back up" in the event that the electricity went out, so he wouldn't miss a big play. He and Pam often enjoyed rides to the beach and especially vacationing in Kennebunkport, ME.| Joe's family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to the North Andover Fire Department for their countless visits for assistance, his AMAZING neighbors and the staff at Aspen Hill for their care and commitment to honor Joe's wishes. Per Joe's request,-a graveside service will take place on Monday, January 13, 2025 at St. Mary's Cemetery in Lawrence at 11:00 am. Family and friends can gather at 10:45 am at the cemetery garages. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice in Joseph's name.
