Joseph "Buddy" Dearent's Obituary
Joseph “Buddy” Dearent of Lawrence, MA. passed away unexpectedly on March 30th at the Cedar View Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Methuen.
Buddy is survived by his only son Scott Dearent and his wife Debra of Dudley, MA, and three Grandsons, Nathan and his fiancée Eve of Jamaica Plain, MA and Nicholas and Nolan of Millbury, MA.
He was born on January 13, 1934 in Lowell, MA. son of the late Frederick J. and Catherine (O’Grady) Dearent and brother Richard, and was a lifelong resident of Lawrence. He was employed by Kollsman of Merrimack, NH in the procurement department before his retirement.
Buddy was a passionate Jazz fan and an avid musician and photographer making the scene at local establishments to sit in to play and photograph friends and fellow musicians.
The family would like to thank all his friends at Cedar View including therapy and nursing staff that helped him throughout the day. Most importantly, a very special thanks to Buddy’s close friends George and Lenny and a host of other great people who always visited and kept in touch through the years.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, April 5th, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA. His funeral service and burial will be private at the request of the family.
