John D. Iannazzo's Obituary
John David Iannazzo, 61, a resident of Salisbury, MA, formerly of Haverhill, MA passed away on Monday, March 22, 2021 at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
The son of the late Perry and Amelia (Kiewlicz) Iannazzo, John was born in Boston and raised in Lawrence. He was educated in the Lawrence Public Schools and was a 1977 graduate of Central Catholic High School. John went on to receive his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Norther Essex Community College. He had worked as a Police Officer in Boxford, MA for some 32 years retiring in October of 2016. John was a member of the Newburyport Elks Club as well as the Garibaldi Club in Haverhill. John was very active in the Lawrence Boys Club when he was younger and had also worked as a Lifeguard at Salisbury Beach for 20 years. He was an avid New England Patriots fan and was a season ticket holder for 50 years.
Members of John’s family include his wife of 35 years Martha A. (Donovan) Iannazzo, his sons: Jay Iannazzo and his fiancé Taylor of Beverly, MA, Michael Iannazzo and his wife Breanne of Yorba Linda, CA and their children Lucia Rae and Cade Michael Iannazzo and Stephen Angelo of Methuen, MA. John is also survived by his sister Francine Downey of Pensacola, FL as well as many extended family members and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in John’s memory to the Lawrence Boys and Girls Club, 136 Water St., Lawrence, MA, 01841.
