John and Francine were our closest friends growing up on Beresford Street. My fondest memory was watching, in color, the movie, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, in the Iannazzo's TV room, eating popcorn that Mr. Iannazzo (Perry) made for us. The mid 60's and they had a color TV! We were such happy kids growing up in the neighborhood. My brother Stephen loved John who encouraged us to learn how to swim. Uncle John was always someone I looked up to (figuratively and literally!). I hold on fondly to the memories of Super Bowl Sunday parties at his place with the New England Patriots. I can still hear all his cheers and jeers. Still see his Patriots tattoo in my memory. I happily remember staying the night over his place to play Sega Genesis with my Cousins Jay and Michael. My deepest sympathies to Martha, Jay, Michael and the rest of the family and friends who miss him like I do. I'll meet you with Jesus when my time comes. Until then, Rest in Peace Uncle John.

My sincere condolences to John’s family. I am shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. I grew up with John and Francine in South Lawrence. Our parents were great friends and we spent much time together. I have great memories (and photos) of us as kids enjoying life. We even went to pre- school and kindergarten together. May his family find comfort in this difficult time.

John and I had breakfast at Wayne's in Boxford @ 5:30 am almost every day for many years. There we covered every sports topic going. Come to find out he had a great friend in Tucker Quinn who I knew from going to Saratoga Horse Track. What a small world. I was very saddened to hear of Johnnie's passing. My deepest condolences go out to his family. RIP Johnnie I . Richie Lenz.
