At eight years old I remember Andy as the oldest of a group of teens, including my cousin Teddy Sarcione, who played ball at the field next to our house on Prospect Street. He was the leader, the nicest and best looking even to a little girl who watched from the sidelines.
I remember how he got sick with poison ivy in his mouth and throat after picking berries that had poison ivy on the plants. All the neighbors were worried about him.
Then the field was sold, Andy enlisted and I lost track of him til yesterday when I regretfully saw his obituary on line. I was in Atkinson last year after attending a. Merrimack College reunion visiting friends—I’ve lived in Maryland for over 55 years. My cousin Teddy passed away years ago but I will tell his older sister Dottie about Andy’s passing. My condolences to the family on the loss of a genuinely good man.
