Zenona "Nona" Santiago's Obituary
Zenona "Nona" Santiago, 80, a resident of Lawrence, MA., passed away on Monday, July 11th, 2011 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Born in Arroyo, Puerto Rico, Nona was educated in Puerto Rico and came to Woburn, MA. in 1971 and then to Lawrence in the 1980's. She was well known for her cooking, especially feeding all her neighbors and her grandchildren. Nona loved taking care of her grandchildren. Members of Nona's family include: her sons: Ramon L. Fonseca, Juan Fonseca, Miguel Fonseca, and Manuel Fonseca and his wife Maryellen Fonseca, her daughters: Hilda M. Diaz, Olga M. Santiago and her husband Antonio Santiago, Zoraida Brito, Carmen I. Perez, Mareleyn Fonseca and Yolanda Fonseca, and a daughter-in-law: Josephine Fonseca. She was the mother of the late Felix Fonseca. Nona is survived by many brothers and sisters as well as 29 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. "She was a great mother and grandmother. We will miss you always and our lives will never be the same without you." A Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 15, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Lawrence, MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, also in Lawrence. Family and friends may call on Thursday, July 14, 2011 from 4 to 8 P.M. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury St., Lawrence, MA.
