William H LeRette's Obituary
William H. LeRette, 97 years old, of Wenham, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at his daughter’s home in Georgetown, Massachusetts on Friday, September 5, 2025. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late William P. LeRette and Mary (Hart) LeRette. He was the loving husband of Arlene Mary (Flynn) with whom he shared 50 years of marriage before her passing in 2007.
As a young boy, William lived in Lynn, Ma.before the family moved to Wenham, Ma. While in Wenham, William attended Beverly High School before transferring to Dean Academy. With the start of the Korean War, William was drafted and sent to Fort Benning, Ga. where he played football for Army and contributed to their winning the service Championship. After the war, William returned home to Wenham, Ma. and worked for Dodge Tree Service while attending Boston University and graduating in 1958 with a degree in Industrial Management focusing on Quality Control and Quality Assurance.
William's career centered on engineering with employment at Sylvania, Transitron, Simplex Wire and Cable, and Raytheon Missile Systems focusing on the Patriot and Sparrow Missiles.
William enjoyed spending time with his family. He advocated hard work as a key to success. He taught his children to play hard, but work harder. All of his children learned how to swim, ski, play football, baseball, tennis and how to ride a two wheeler. There were many family evening runs, as well as camping and canoeing trips. However, everyone learned the gardening skills necessary to grow a half acre garden and how to run a family produce stand. He was the designated math tutor after multiplication tables were memorized. William always emphasized the importance of learning and hard work as keys to success.
William is survived by his daughter, Arlene DiMento, her husband, Jim, his granddaughter, Allison Ellard, her husband, David, and his great-granddaughter, Anastasia, as well as his granddaughter, Katie DiMento and Alex Greene and his Grandson, James DiMento III, and his wife, Amy Hood.
William is also survived by his daughter, Karen Del Mastro, her husband, Robert, and his granddaughter, Lauren Del Mastro.
William is also survived by his son, William E. LeRette, his wife, Roselyn, and his granddaughter, Renee LeRette, and his great- granddaughter, Everlie, and his grandson, William J. LeRette.
William is also survived by his youngest son, Robert LeRette, and his wife, Sandra, his granddaughter, Stephanie LeRette, her husband, William Reardon, and his great-granddaughter, Sloane Reardon. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Brittany Schmidt, her husband, Michael, and his great-grandchildren, Jenna and Evan Schmidt.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, 35 Merrimack Street, North Andover, MA 01845.
A graveside service and burial will follow the next morning, Thursday, September 11, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Wenham Cemetery at the Iron Rail on Rubbly Road.
