William Robert Deloge's Obituary
William Robert Deloge of Chelmsford, formerly of Methuen and Dracut, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at the age of 90.
William was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on May 31, 1933, to George Deloge and Blanche Stackles and grew up in Lawrence and Dracut. The second of three children, William graduated from the Lowell Trade School in 1951. He enlisted in the Navy at age 20 and performed active duty during the Korean war. His travels with the military took him to places like Japan and Australia.
Following his honorable discharge with the Navy, William remained part of the reserves for another six years. In 1958 he married Elaine C. Gagne, and after starting a family in Lawrence, he purchased his first home in Methuen. Shortly after his divorce, he moved back to the Methuen home and took over the child rearing duties. He worked as a machinist before retiring from Hewlett-Packard in Andover.
He enjoyed fishing and spent time with his youngest son Robert pursuing this activity. He also contributed to genealogical research with his daughter Carolyn.
William was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother George Deloge Jr. He is survived by his sister Dorothy Leal and his children Carolyn Sano, James Deloge, Janet D’Anna, Russell Deloge, and Robert Deloge; four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
