I just found out this week that Billy passed away. Billy and I worked together at Lawrence Public Schools but beyond that Billy and I were good friends. We spent many times together over the last 2 years. I am so very sorry that I didn't have the chance to see him lately. Initially our relationship was mostly talking about the Red Sox. But it evolved into talking about many personal things like our health issues and my family. Billy knew my wife and my children and cared about them. Many of our conversations we talked about God and spiritual matters. If you happen to see a picture of Billy with the 2004 Redsox trophy that is me next to him. Billy had a wrinkled prayer card in his wallet of a picture of Jesus and a prayer for those that live alone. Billy cherished that little prayer. I gave Billy that prayer card a couple of years ago and he always carried it with him. Billy had a very deep relationship with Jesus. I miss Billy and will always keep him in my prayers and I am sure he will do the same for me just like we always did. My sincere condolonces go out to Billy's family and to all those he called friend. Jerry DiStefano
