William "Bill" A. Pekarski's Obituary
William “Bill” Pekarski, 92, passed away February 13th at Highpointe House in Haverhill, MA. Born on February 1st, 1927, Bill was a lifelong resident of Lawrence, MA. He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and Boston College.
Bill proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during the Korean War and WWII. He worked with the IRS until his retirement. In his free time, Bill enjoyed playing “45’s” and “cribbage” and spending time with his family and friends.
A truly humble and loving man, Bill was more affectionately known as Bampa. He will be sadly missed by the love of his life and wife of 68 years Marie “Norton”, his brother Vincent Pekarski, his son William H., his daughter Anne Cook and her husband James, son David and his wife Tracy, niece Mary “Wheeler” Gosselin and husband Bryan, grandchildren Alethea Pekarski, Sarah Cook, Siobhan Atwood and husband Robert, and Gregory and partner Caitlyn Trudell, Victoria and William L. Pekarski, and great grandchildren Sheelagh, Sean, Jillian, Braeden, Isla and Rachel. His daughter-in-law Eileen Pekarski of Lawrence, MA. as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by son Christopher Pekarski, sisters Mary, Bernice, and Rosalie, and sister in-law Teresa “Shar” Wheeler and her husband John “Jack”.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to call on Saturday February 16, 2019 from 10:00 to 12:00 at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA. His funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 noon in the Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
