Bamps or bampy is who i knew him as! Growing up around Bamps was an absolute pleasure, a kind and loving man to his family and everyone who knew him. I didn’t spend much time with him but he took his grandson Ry and me to Central Catholic basketball games, what a special time and memories. My dad says Bill was one of the nicest guys he’s ever met, a pleasure and blessing to know him.

I always had the pleasure of speaking with Bill every time I saw him, whether it be at Andover CC or an MV sporting event. Did not know him that well but always enjoyed his company. A real gentleman !!! My deepest sympathies to his family.

I hadn't seen Billy since graduation and met him at our 50th reunion ten years ago. He had brought a 1961 yearbook to the gathering and brought me and others up to date on friends who were not with us for whatever reason. It was a touching moment, and spoke well of his concern for his friends and classmates. My condolences. I can only imagine how much you will miss him.

I was so terribly sorry to hear this news. In a world where few are deserving of the title "hero," Bill Bateman has always been on a very short list of mine. I take solace in the fact I was privileged enough to have been able to introduce my own children to him.
