Susan & Tom, I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the entire Ruffen family. I'm sure your dad will surely be missed as I am still missing mine. Sorry I couldn't get to the wake. Condolences are sent from the entire Mawson - Hyland family.
Dear Marylou and family, I heard recently from my sisters Jan and Magill about Tommy's passing, and I would like to express my deepest sympathies. I have many fond memories of being a batboy on Tommy's Holihan's softball team, and also watching him play basketball for St. Mary's CYO team. I was always very proud that he was my uncle. I enjoyed the many evenings spent babysitting Susan and Tommy Jr. with my grandmother over in South Lawrence where it was always fun to raid the refrigerator and snack the night away. I am sorry I did not get to know him and the family very well once I left Lawrence to make my way in the world. I always thought that Tommy was a great role model and the proof of that is certainly in the wonderful accomplishments of your children. Aubrey and May would be very proud.
We would like to extend our deepest condolences to Coach Dave Ruffen and family for their loss. Sincerely, Taveras family

Dear Mary Lou and family: My deepest sympathy on the death of Tom. He was one of the nicest people you could ever meet - and a great athlete and dancer. I do not know a soul who didn't like Tommy Ruffen....... Betty Sullivan Beland
My sympathy to Tom's family. I worked with Tom at Purity. A true gentleman best described Tom.
I want to extend to Susan and all her family my prayers and thoughts during this time of sorrow. Know that as we go about our work at Holy Family Hospital, the members of the Spiritual Care department will carry Tom in our hearts; always with the assurance of faith that as he died in Christ at baptism, he will also share in His Resurrection. Peace, Bill Sweeney
