Thomas G. Enright's Obituary
Thomas G. Enright, 93 years young, of Methuen, MA, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving daughters.
Born in Lawrence, MA, Tom was the son of the late Daniel and Katherine (Pickles) Enright. He attended St. Rita’s and St. Mary’s grammar schools and graduated from Searles High School in Methuen. He later earned his degree from Merrimack College in North Andover. Tom honorably served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955 during the Korean War.
Following his service, Tom enjoyed a long and successful career with Western Electric and AT&T, retiring as a Human Resources Manager after 34 years.
Affectionately known as “Pop,” Tom was a beloved figure in his community. He enjoyed daily walks around the neighborhood, always greeted by dogs eagerly awaiting their treats. Tom and his wife, the late Rita A. O’Neill — his partner of 56 years — cherished their winters in Spring Hill, Florida, where he loved golfing, often scoring holes-in-one with his best friend, Earl. His greatest joy, however, came from time spent with his grandchildren, especially during their lively pool visits.
Tom’s pride and joy were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was eagerly anticipating the arrival of a new great-grandchild this July.
Family was everything to Tom. He is survived by his daughters and their families:
Maureen R. and John Saba of Methuen, MA., Colleen Enright of Haverhill, MA.,
Eileen M. Gill of Methuen, MA. and Kathleen Enright of Maine.
His cherished grandchildren are Ryan Garrigan, Tory Sessa, Tayla McCartin, and Meredith Gill.
His beloved great-grandchildren are Isabella, Reese, and Luca, with another great-grandchild on the way. Along with several nieces and nephews.
Tom was also predeceased by his brother Daniel J. Enright, his sister Mary Sheila Melia, and sons-in-law Paul Gill and Philip DeFusco.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 1st at 11:00 AM at Saint Monica’s Church in Methuen, MA. Burial will follow at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence, MA.
Arrangements are under the care of John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, 122 Amesbury St., Lawrence, MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tom’s memory to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.
Tom will be remembered always as a devoted family man, a proud veteran, and a friend to all who knew him
