Thomas Bernard "Tom" Corrigan's Obituary
Thomas Bernard “Tom” Corrigan, 87, of Lawrence, died peacefully at his home on March 4, 2026, surrounded by his family, after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer. Born on June 30, 1938 to parents Bernard Corrigan and Josephine (Fortune) Corrigan, Tom lived his entire life in Lawrence. After graduating from Lawrence High School he started working at Raytheon Companies where he worked for 43 years. In 1967, Tom married the love of his life, Nancy (Moore) Corrigan of Lawrence, with whom he shared 58+ wonderful years of marriage. Together they built a loving home and family legacy, raising two sons who later blessed them with five grandchildren.
Tom enjoyed gardening, landscaping, do-it-yourself construction projects, and hosting weekend pool parties and cookouts at 7 Barnard Road. As with everything he did, Tom was meticulous about pool maintenance and took great pride in having the undisputed best pool in the neighborhood. An avid walker, Tom’s daily after-dinner solo power walks through the streets of South Lawrence became a routine by which local residents could set their clocks. Tom most adored being “Papa” to his grandchildren, picking them up at the bus stop, driving them to and from school and sporting events, hosting sleepovers, and walking his grand dog, Louie. Tom was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend to so many.
Tom is survived by his wife Nancy, sons and daughters-in-law Brian and Amy Corrigan and David and Cheryl Corrigan, grandchildren Brian Corrigan Jr., Amanda Corrigan, Timothy Corrigan, Samantha Corrigan and Mackenzie Corrigan, siblings Joan Taylor and Richard Corrigan, sisters-in-law Susan Moore and Donna Corrigan, and many nieces and nephews. Tom was predeceased by his sister Catherine Menzie, brothers-in-law Phil Taylor and Jack Menzie, and nephew Kevin Taylor.
The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the staff of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for their extraordinary care and compassion over the last two years as Tom battled cancer.
