Stanley "Scotty" R. Bleczinski's Obituary
Stanley “Scotty” R. Bleczinski, 87, of Salisbury Beach, MA passed away peacefully at home
on Friday April 25, 2025, surrounded by family.
Stan was born on March 27, 1938, in Lowell Massachusetts to Helen A. Bleczinski (Bilinska)
and Stanley Bleczinski. Raised and educated in the city of Lawrence, he attended Holy
Trinity and was a proud graduate of Lawrence High School’s class of 1955. After
high school he was proud to have served in the United States Army. Stan had a retail
career of 43 years, working his way through the ranks from grocery clerk at Stop & Shop to
Department Store Manager of Bradlee’s, where he spent most of his career. His primary
focus was always on his family, and his greatest joy was to spend time with his children and
grandchildren. His biggest goal in life was to provide a college education for his four
children, and to fulfill his dream of living at the beach. He took great pride in achieving both
of those goals and loved nothing more than celebrating successful achievements and
events with his family. His true “happy place” was Salisbury Beach, and was the location
that provided decades of love, laughter and happy memories for his family and friends,
beginning in 1972.
Stan is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 62 years, Mary “Sis” E. Bleczinski
(Degnan); his four children Mary “Mimi” Boes and her husband Brian Boes of Salisbury, MA,
Colleen Dominguez and her husband Carlos Dominguez of Revere Beach, MA, Scott
Bleczinski and his wife Jacqueline Bleczinski of West Newbury, MA and Sharon Boes and
her husband Eric Boes of West Newbury, MA; his 6 grandchildren – Matthew Boes and his
wife Karli, Nicholas Boes, Cameron Boes, Elise Boes, Lila Boes and Sean Bleczinski, and
great-grandson Jackson Boes. He is survived by his two brothers, Edward Bleczinski and
his wife Lois, Robert Bleczinski and his wife Gail, and his brother-in-law, Jim Degnan and
his wife Donna, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents
Helen and Stanley and granddaughter Claire Bleczinski.
Stan was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many.
He loved traveling with his wife and spending time for many years in Treasure Island Florida
during the winter months. He was an avid sports fan and loved nothing more than
attending sporting events for all of his children and grandchildren. His passion on the
sidelines began with his son’s high school and college football career and continued with
the next generation. Known affectionately as “Papa,” his “coaching” from the stands was
part of his charm and embodied his passion and love for his family and whatever sport he
was cheering on. He loved New England sports teams, specifically the New England
Patriots and Boston Red Sox, and could be heard cheering through the windows for every
game.
His lifelong friendships provided endless fun adventures, specifically at the beach. He was
predeceased by his two best friends, Tom Burke and John Lundy, and together they formed
the infamous “Lundy-Burke Marching Band.” The 4th of July parade was a testament to their
friendship and determination to create a party wherever they went. The “band” will once
again be reunited, and the rest of us will uphold the 4th of July tradition in their honor, this
year and for many years to come.
Special thanks to all the incredible doctors and nurses that cared for him, specifically the
VA Medical System Team, especially Dr. Chong-Xian Pan and Dr. Emily G. Tsanotelis and
her nurse Barbara.
Family and Friends will celebrate Stan’s life by gathering for his calling hours from 10:00-
11:00AM on Saturday May 10th at Star of the Sea (Town Church), 18 Beach Rd, Salisbury,
MA. A funeral mass will be celebrated following the calling hours at 11:00AM at the church.
Guests are kindly asked to meet directly at the church.
