Shaun P. McLellan's Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Officer Shaun P. McLellan, who died suddenly on March 31st, 2025 at the age of 53.
Shaun was a dedicated police officer with the Lawrence Police Department and a proud U.S. Navy veteran who served his country and community with courage.
Born on May 2nd, 1971 in Lawrence, Mass, Shaun was driven by a strong sense of duty and compassion. Following his military service he continued to serve by joining the Lawrence Police Department, where he spent 17 years protecting and supporting the people of Lawrence.
Officer Mclellan was more than his uniform. He was a beloved son, brother, father, uncle and friend. Known for his kindess, sharp wit, humor, and a generous heart, he made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
Though his passing was the result of his struggle with mental health, we remember Shaun for the life he lived – his bravery, kindness, and dedication to others. His struggle does not define him; his legacy of service and love does.
He is survived by his son Austin McLellan and mother Helen McLellan, nieces Elizabeth and Emily McLellan, Fiancé Kristen Chiaramonte, lifelong friends and a brotherhood of fellow officers and veterans who will carry his memory forward. He will be deeply missed and forever honored.
