Steve L-W
from Judy Atkins:
Sally and I lived next door to each other during High School. We missed the bus quite often and
ended up walking to school and getting there late.
Our class at Northport High School was full of wonderful people. We had very close friendships. Sally, Kathie,
Nancy and I were big Beatles fans, and we pretended to actually be the Beatles. Sally was George.
Sally graduated from Elmira College and went off the Edinburgh for a little while. Sally lived and worked
in Cambridge and then moved to the North Shore. She lived in Amesbury and then moved to the YWCA in Newburyport. She loved taking long walks and loved Plum Island. Sally loved to swim. Sally started to develop memory problems but that didn’t keep her down. We continued to meet and one time we met at Fruitlands in Harvard, Mass. The second time we met there she couldn’t remember being there previously. She had some wonderful friends, the best one being Steve, who took her to concerts and to Thanksgiving dinners with friends. Reading was very important to Sally and we shared books. In fact when we wrote to each other we signed our letters, Best Books. I want to appreciate the YWCA people who kept her being able to live there until very recently. I also want to thank Dylan, her nephew, who watched over her and loved her. Best Books, Sally.
