Ross W Comeau's Obituary
Ross W. Comeau, 67, of Andover MA, passed away peacefully alongside his family on December 25th, 2025, at High Point House in Haverhill M.A, after a short but well fought battle with ALS.
Ross was born in Leominster MA on April 21st, 1958. He was the son of the late Alphonse Comeau and Helen (McLaughlin) Comeau. He was a graduate of St. Bernards High School in Fitchburg MA and received his undergraduate degree from Fitchburg State University. He spent his career employed by the Commonwealth of MA as an editor.
Ross was a true family man and outdoorsman. He greatly enjoyed all outdoor activities with his family, from hiking adventures across New England and beach walks spanning the North Shore, NH, and Maine coastlines. Ross was an avid Red Sox, Patriots, and Celtics fan and enjoyed watching the games alongside his beloved cats.
Ross was a short wave radio hobbyist the majority of his life. He was a part of various local shortwave groups and attended many conferences and festivals for shortwave radio. He enjoyed exploring the world by tuning his radio, listening and logging the radio stations, and writing QSL’s to confirm receipt of his transmission. Over the years, through shortwave radio and the internet, Ross developed an expansive musical appreciation spanning a variety of genres and musicians from all around the world. He enjoyed sharing his love of music with his friends and loved ones.
Ross leaves behind his wife, Susan Comeau of Andover MA, his daughter Catherine Comeau of North Andover MA, and his son, Andrew Comeau, of Haverhill MA.
In compliance with Ross’s wishes, funeral services and calling hours are private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ALS Association or the High Pointe House in Haverhill MA.
