Roland A. 'Ben' Benoit's Obituary
Roland A. ‘Ben’ Benoit, 85, a resident of Hampton Beach, NH, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital in Portsmouth, NH.
The son of the late Wilfred and Jeannette (Houle) Benoit, Ben was born and educated in Lawrence and was a 1957 graduate of Lawrence High School. He went on to attend Merrimack College in North Andover. Ben served in the Military Police in the United States Army Reserves. He retired from Wang Laboratories where he had worked as a Contracts Manager for over 20 years. Despite being French, Ben loved Irish songs and dancing. He loved his numerous trips to Ireland. Ben took great pride in his family; it was the most important thing in his life.
Ben is survived by his wife of 64 years Helen M. (Bowler) Benoit, his children: Christopher and his wife Karen of Methuen, MA, Patricia and her husband Darrell Marroncelli of Hampton, NH, and James and his wife Jaime of Lawrence, MA. He is also survived by a sister Carol Auerbach of Alabama as well as his grandchildren: David and his wife Kristen Marroncelli, Kristen and her husband Gabriel Vicente, and Nicholas Benoit, Hannah Benoit, Sean Benoit and Shane Benoit. He is also survived by great-grandchildren: Austin Marroncelli and Trip, Tyler and Benny Vicente, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Monday, June 17, 2024, at 11:30 A.M. in St. Michael’s Church, 196 Main Street, North Andover, MA. Burial will take place at a later date. A celebration of Ben's life will take place immediately following the Funeral Mass at the Irish Cottage, 17 Branch Street, Methuen, MA.
