Robert Royal Gauthier Jr.'s Obituary
Robert Royal Gauthier, Jr., age 57, of Salem, NH., passed away unexpectedly on January 27, 2023. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, especially his beloved children, Tonicia (Gauthier) Hardy and Kurt Gauthier. He adored his children more than anything. Robert took pride in many things, but being a father was what he was most proud of.
Robert was born on August 16, 1965 in Lawrence, MA. He graduated from Lawrence Vocational High School in 1983. After high school, he proudly served in the United States Army, from 1984 to 1989, and developed a deep sense of patriotism and love for the USA. Robert graduated from Northern Essex Community College and also attended Merrimack College. In 1992, Robert married the mother of his children, Camille (Levesque) Mawhinney. Robert was employed by Verizon for several years. As an entrepreneur, Robert started his own residential and commercial contracting company, Robert Gauthier Contracting (RGC), until his passing.
Robert enjoyed watching the Patriots, listening to AC/DC, and traveling. In the summers, he loved the beach and boogie boarding or a big lobster lunch at Browns and Chauncey Creek. He loved bike rides, family camping trips to Lake Winnipesaukee, and fishing with his children and nephews. Ultimately, he was happiest when spending time with his children and friends he loved. He will be remembered by his loved ones in exactly that way; with a big child-like smile on his face.
He is survived by his daughter, Tonicia (Gauthier) Hardy and her husband, Robert Hardy, his son, Kurt Gauthier, his father, Robert Sr., his brother and best friend, Bill and his wife, Beatrize, his sister, Tracey Gauthier-Peters, and his sister, Joanie (Gauthier) Simko and her husband, Jack Simko. He was predeceased by his mother Anne (Curran) Gauthier and his brother-in-law Francis Peters.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday March 3, 2023, at 11:30 am at St. Michael’s Church, 196 Main Street, North Andover, MA. The burial will be held at Ridgewood Cemetery at 177 Salem Street, North Andover. A Celebration of Life will follow the burial and be held at the North Andover VFW, 32 Park Street.
