Rita Marie (Camarra) Polito's Obituary
Mrs. Rita Marie( Camarra ) Polito passed away peacefully at her home in Lawrence, MA on Sunday July 26, 2020. She was 89. Her loving son Peter was at her bedside.
Rita was the twelfth child of 13 born to Frank Camarra Sr. and Civita( Bonanno ) Camarra of Methuen MA. Rita was born on Friday July 10, 1931, grew up in Methuen and attended public schools there.
Rita worked for Western Electric/ At&T/ Lucent performing all the tasks assigned to her. She was a stickler for perfection. She was a fierce friend to those that worked with her on the job and shared lunches together when time permitted. She retired in 2000.
Rita was a fierce fighter! Tough as nails, sharp as a razor. She fought every day of her life. She fought for herself, she fought for her sons, and she never surrendered! Rita gave as good as she got!
Rita was a member of the Bridal Fashion Council and ran her own Bridal House for some time. She was a seamstress, wonderful cook, and baker.
Rita was fiercely devoted to her two sons! They were her world and she fought for them every day of her life.
Rita will be remembered as a good, decent, selfless woman who always put the needs of her sons above her own.
Her sons will always remember her this way:
When we cried, she wiped away our tears.
When we fell, she picked us up.
When we were sad, she made us smile.
When we were threatened, she protected us.
When we called, she came without hesitation.
When we were in pain, she gave us comfort.
When we were cold, she gave us warmth.
When we were hungry, she fed us.
Thin or flush, Rita was always there!
Wherever we were, Rita was always watching.
There was nothing about motherhood she could not do!
She was the pick of the litter! They broke the mold when they made her!
She was the smile of god.
Rita now resides in the heavens. However, she’ll always be watching out for the welfare of her sons and grandson.
Her eldest son peter will always remember this way:
Edelweiss, edelweiss
Every morning you greet me
Small and white
Clean and bright
You look happy to meet me
Blossom of snow
May you bloom and grow
Bloom and grow forever
Edelweiss, edelweiss
Bless my mama forever
Small and white
Clean and bright
You look happy to meet me
Blossom of snow
May you bloom and grow
Bloom and grow forever
Edelweiss, edelweiss
Bless my mama forever
Rita is survived by her two sons: Peter M. Polito of Lawrence MA, Raymond L. Polito, Sr. of Worcester, MA, and grandson Raymond L. Polito Jr also of Worcester MA.
