Rita Marie Guillette's Obituary
Rita Marie Guillette, 93 born January 7, 1931 in Lawrence, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on January 19th after a period of decline. Rita is the daughter of the late Timothy and Sadie Cavanaugh of Lawrence Ma.
Her family is grateful that she passed peacefully under the loving care of family, assisted by Beacon Hospice and the wonderful nurses and licensed nursing assistants at the Nevins Nursing Home. Rita was forever grateful to her caretakers. They validated her dignity and respect with loving care. Our family is forever thankful for this blessing at the end of her life.
She is survived by her sons Bob and his wife, Carolyn; Joe, Billy and Michael; her grandchildren Michelle and her husband John ,Joe ,Tim, and Sarah, Emily and Keith, and great grandchildren Caitlyn, Kayla, Charlese, Vivian and Benjamin.
Rita's devotion to family gave her purpose and meaning. She and Joe spent treasured time with their grandchildren camping and enjoying quality time together. She so much enjoyed her time with her sister Eileen Breen's family. During the latter years of her life, she was blessed with loving attention from Eileen, Beverly and Laurie.
Rita was a devoted sister who took care of her brothers, having to quit school at a very young age. She indeed was a caretaker. She then married Joe Guillette and they raised 6 strong men during very trying times.
Rita was a devout Catholic who was always comforted by prayer. Near the end of her life, she prayed to be reunited to those that she had left behind. She is preceded by her husband Joe, sons John and Timothy, grandson Michael, brothers William, Jimmy, Mickey, Tim and sisters, Alice and Eileen.
Friends and family may call from 9:00AM to 11:00AM on Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024 with a funeral service to follow at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home 122 Amesbury Street Lawrence, Ma. Burial will take place at the Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen, MA.
