Richard W. Smith Sr.'s Obituary
Richard W. Smith, Sr. 81 a resident of Hampton, NH, died at his residence on January 15, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Methuen on April 7, 1937 to William and Margaret (Arnold) Smith. He attended Punchard High School where he lettered in multiple sports and went onto attend the University of Maryland. He served on active duty in the US Army where he saw assignment in the US Embassy in Rome, Italy. He worked in Sales for various companies for many years having retired as Vice President of Sales and Marketing from Mitchell-Bradford Chemical Company in Milford, CT.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years: Eleanor (Hewett) Smith, daughter; Jennifer Smith of Hampton, NH, Sons; George Garrett Smith of Timbuktu, and Richard W. Smith, Jr. and his wife Amelia of Manchester, NH, five grandsons: Greg Emmert, Richard W. Smith, III; Austin and Aaron Padellaro and Noah Smith. One brother Wayne Donohue of Salem, NH and one sister Lynne Hegarty of Winchester, MA. As well as several nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated in his name on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 11:00AM in St. Patrick’s Church, 118 South Broadway, Lawrence, MA, 01843. Burial will take place at a later date.
