Richard D. Mahoney Sr.'s Obituary
Richard D. Mahoney, born August 4, 1934, in Ashuelot, NH, lived a life marked by quiet strength, hard work and selfless dedication. On November 1st, surrounded by his loved ones, Richard passed away, leaving a legacy of kindness and humility. Richard was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
As a young man, Richard was an adventurer and avid skier who also served in the United States Air Force. After which, he spent 32 years working at Raytheon as a manager of Information Technology. Richard put in many long hours to provide for his family and spent his spare time doing everything for everyone. His retirement years were full of what he loved - cooking, golfing, gardening and most of all spending time with his family.
He will be deeply missed by Anne (Fitzgibbons) Mahoney, his beloved wife of 62 years, and their children, Richard (daughter-in-law Jodi), James (son-in-law Mike Vergara), Ellen Knapp (son-in-law Micah), Stephen (daughter-in-law Melissa). His five grandchildren, Erin, Michael, Daniel, Amelia, and Liam, brought him much joy and pride. Richard is also survived by his brother Daniel and sister Catherine and predeceased by his sister Janette and brothers Leonard and Raymond.
Richard touched all who had the privilege of knowing him. His quiet presence will be missed profoundly but remembered with enduring gratitude.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to call on Thursday, November 7th, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 35 Merrimack Street, No. Andover, MA. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 8th, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Michaels Church, 196 Main Street, No. Andover, MA. Burial will be at a later date.
