Richard W. Dalton's Obituary
Richard Dalton, a longtime resident of Danville, New Hampshire—formerly of Lawrence, Massachusetts, and Winthrop, Maine—passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025, at the Colonial Poplin Nursing Facility in Fremont, New Hampshire.
Born and raised in Lawrence, Massachusetts, Richard was the son of the late Yvonne and Wendal Dalton. He was a proud graduate of Greater Lawrence Technical School in Andover, Massachusetts.
Richard had a deep love for New England, especially for his favorite baseball team—the Boston Red Sox. His enthusiasm for the game was infectious, and he cherished every moment. A man of strong faith, he was a longtime member of East Winthrop Baptist Church in Winthrop, Maine, where he formed lasting friendships and contributed to his community. He also had a passion for technology and enjoyed learning about the latest innovations.
He is survived by his children, Colleen and Jimmy, as well as his three sisters: Ester Cole of Florida, Carol Swasson of New Hampshire, and Ruth Anne Rodriguez of Florida. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Kenneth Dalton and David Dalton, both of Lawrence Massachusetts and his sister Edna Dalton of Canada. Richard also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews who will carry his memory with them.
Richard will be remembered for his generous heart, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to family, faith, and tradition.
In honoring Richard’s memory, the family asks that you take a moment to cheer on the Red Sox and think of him. He will be deeply missed.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025 at John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, located on Amesbury Street in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Visiting hours will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by a service led by the pastor at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow at Bellevue Cemetery in Lawrence, Massachusetts.
