Raymond Wildes, Jr.'s Obituary
Raymond Wildes, Jr. passed away on May 4, 2019. Born in Manchester, NH, he was the son of the late Raymond, Sr. and Sarah (Young) Wildes. Ray was raised and educated in Haverhill, MA.
At 17, Ray enlisted in the US Navy as an "Electrician's Mate Third Class". He served during World Wat II on the USS Pavlic APD 70 and was in Tokyo Bay when the Japanese surrendered. After the War Ray worked as an electrician. He worked in the Electrical Maintenance Dept. for Western Electric as a manager for over 30 years, before he retired. He lived in FL for some years then returned to MA. He enjoyed traveling, skiing, and golfing in his spare time, and USS Pavlic reunions.
Raymond is predeceased by his wife, Barbara (Currier) Wildes; his brothers, John, Luther, Richard, William, and his sister, Margaret DeVito of Haverhill.
Ray is survived by his brother, Robert and his wife, Donna, of Lawrence, his stepson Richard Huntress of Haverhill, MA, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A celebration of life and visitation will be held at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 35 Merrimack St., North Andover, MA on Sunday, May 19, 2019 from 1-3 pm.
