Raymond R. Auger's Obituary
Raymond R. Auger, 78, of Lawrence, MA, passed away peacefully a St. Elizabeth's Hospital on July 7, 2023, in the company of his loving family.
Born in Lawrence, MA, on December 7, 1944, the son of the late Bertha (Winters) Aziz and Benoit Auger. Ray was raised in Lawrence with his loving parents Bertha and Roger Aziz and graduated from Lawrence High School. He joined the National Guard and then went onto join the Teamsters Union and worked at Bolta Rubber Company and Crown Cork and Seal.
Ray was the beloved husband of Margaret J. (Decoteau) Auger with whom they shared fifty-seven years of marriage.
He thoroughly enjoyed fishing, photography and camping with his family throughout New England. He and Peggy would hop their four children into the station wagon with their dogs. He loved spending time with his family and discussing sports and politics.
He was an avid New England Sports fan. In his retirement he continued to enjoy fishing and photography. He will always be remembered for his big smile and always having a big bear hug for everyone.
Beloved father to Mary Auger-El Khoury and her partner Frank St. Pierre of Salem, NH, Marc Auger of Haverhill, MA, Matthew Auger and his wife Lisa of Atkinson, NH, and Michael Auger and his wife Dana, of Missouri, and loving grandfather to George and Christina El Khoury of Methuen, MA, Matthew Auger Jr, Dante Auger and Ryan Auger of Atkinson, NH and Kelsey White of Lawrence, MA. He leaves many cousins, and brothers-in-law.
He has joined in heaven his parents Bertha and Roger, his sister June Nolin and his nephew Eric Nolin and his beloved dogs.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, July 13th, 2023, between 5:00 and 7:00 pm at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, 122 Amesbury St, Lawrence, MA 01841.
A mass will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Melkite Church on 241 Hampshire Street, Lawrence, MA 01841. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH
