Ralph A Kemp's Obituary
Ralph A. Kemp, 76, of Lawrence, MA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday July 5th, 2023. Ralph was born on February 26, 1947 in Presque Isle, ME, to the late George and Margaret (Wishart) Kemp. Ralph spent his educational years in North Granby, Ct. He attended Northwestern Connecticut Community College of Winsted, Ct and the New England Institute of Technology of New Britain, Ct. Ralph followed in his father’s footsteps by obtaining his private pilot’s license and Amateur Radio license (KB1yeb). Ralph loved playing guitar in the sixties popular local band, The Shadows of Granby. He was a proud veteran of the US Navy serving from 1968-1974. He spent his working career as an electronics technician selling and servicing 2-way Radios. In the last few years he renewed his love of the guitar and found great joy in playing and teaching guitar at the VA Hospital in Bedford, MA.
Ralph leaves his life partner for over 35 years Susan Hodge of Swiftwater, PA.. He loved her children like his own, “Susie” Hodge of Plymouth, MA and the late “Ricky“ Hodge. Ralph also leaves 6 siblings, his twin Roger Kemp of Lawrence, MA who was a true partner in pranking many with the twin looks, Richard (Beth) Kemp of Easton, PA, Cynthia (Camillo) Scherer of Tucson, AZ , Robert (Sheryl) Kemp of Hartland, CT, Wayne (Kathy) Kemp of Union, CT, and Wendy Kemp of Phoenix, AZ . Ralph will also be missed as a devoted uncle to Randall (Chelsea) Kemp and grandnephew Rydell Kemp of Scottsdale, AZ.
