With a heavy heart and tearful eyes , I learned of the passing of my Aunt Rachel. Her life can be summed up in short with use of the word ... dedicated. Never was there a woman more dedicated to her family , her children , grandchildren , great-grandchildren , and extended relatives than she was. Rachel had a strong hand in raising many of her grandchildren as well as some of her great-grandchildren and was definately a major positive and guiding influence on all of their lives. Rachel was also extremely dedicated to her job as having worked locally for many years in the old Stuart's Department Store and then a 40 year career at Rocky's Ace Hardware in North Andover , flat out refusing to "give in and retire" working well into her 79th year. Rachel had an immense heart , the size of which knew no end , being the last of her sibling group she always made plenty of time and room to console and help all her neices and nephews through the pain of their losses and always took care of everybody's needs in a truly selfless manner. She gave all of her heart and soul to all she knew and was a true friend to all who knew her. She goes now to dedicate herself unto the service of the Lord , they must need a darn good babysitter somewhere up in heaven because they'll be getting the best. To all family members I offer my unending sympathy and most sincere and heartfelt condolences , with an extra helping to Rachels only daughter , Miss Gayle , my favorite cousin , for caring for her mother right up to the very end , and to her grandson Aaron , who was the special love of her life , her pride and joy. My Dearest Aunt Rachel , Go walk hand -in-hand with the Lord and Rest In Eternal Peace , you certainly earned that right. You will remain in my heart and mind forever.
I worked with Rachel at Rocky's for about 2 years and she was always happy and sarcastic and the first one to make you smile. She loved everyone especially her family and I couldnt have enjoyed her company more while working there. She will be missed by many. My condolences to the family.
