Rachel Rose Castles' Obituary
Rachel Rose (Thibodeau) Castles, 90, a resident of Lawrence, MA, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023 at the Lowell General Hospital.
She was born in Lawrence on April 20, 1932 to Louis and Eva (DeBlois) Thibodeau and was educated in the local schools. Rachel was a caring mother who enjoyed spending time with her children whenever she could. She loved to dance and sit in her special garden in her yard. She also enjoyed going to Newburyport and sitting on a bench near the waterfront. Rachel also enjoyed stopping to get an ice cream. She loved her home and keeping it tidy and clean. Additionally, she would spend weekends in the summer at the family cottage in the White Mountains.
The widow of Raymond S. Castles, Jr. members of Rachel’s family include her children: Linda Castles, Barbara Castles Graff, Brenda Castles Shea and Stephen J. Castles, grandchildren: Shawn Castles, Stephen R. Castles, Mark R. Shea, Jr, Timothy Shea, Michael Castles Timony, and Allyson Castles Graff. She is also survived by her great grandchildren: Emily Castles, Shawn Castles, Jr, Skylar Raye Castles, and Lincoln Castles. Rachel is also survived by her brother Alcide Thibodeau. She was mother to the late Raymond S. Castles, III and sister of the late Henry, Louis, Roland, Roger, Toinette, Jennette, and Melda.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 10, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. in St. Patrick’s Church, 118 South Broadway, Lawrence, MA. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Corbett Street, Andover, MA. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, February 9, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury St., Lawrence, MA.
