Patricia Frances Godden's Obituary
Patricia Frances (Daly) Godden, 84, a resident of North Andover, MA, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024, at the Prescott House Nursing Home in North Andover.
Born in Andover, MA, Patricia was the daughter of the late Patrick Francis and Vera Beatrice (Downs) Daly. She was educated at St. Augustine Grammar School in Andover and went on to graduate from St. Patrick’s High School in Lawrence. She then received a bachelor's degree in education from Lowell State University and embarked on her career. Primarily, Patricia worked as a first-grade teacher in the North Andover School System for some 30 years.
In her private life, Patsy, was an avid collector of Hummel figurines and loved L.L. Bean clothing. With her husband, she enjoyed boating, motorcycle and snowmobile riding, as well as flying high in his airplane. Patricia was extremely skilled in the arts of knitting, needlepoint and crochet. Aside from Bill, her pets were her one true love. Their dogs, Ebon and Teal, and far too many cats to name over the years brought them both an abundance of joy. Patricia was consistently donating to the M.S.P.C.A. and religiously supported many Catholic Charities. She also had the free address labels and notepads to prove it! Enough to last beyond her lifetime.
The widow of William Godden, Patricia, is survived by her nieces: Maureen Blouin, Kathleen Driscoll, Gayle Trageser, Marcy Verrone and Laura Magoon, her nephews, James W. Daly Jr., Fred Roth, and Scott Astle, her sisters-in-law Louise Barwell and Judith Godden, brother-in- law Carl Roth, as well as many grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her brother, James W. Daly, sister. Margaret Roth, sisters-in-law, Ann M. Daly and Susan Astle and nephew, Robert Roth.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 12:00 noon at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 35 Merrimack St., North Andover, MA.
