Olga Torres Rivas de Gonzalez's Obituary
Olga Torres Rivas de Gonzalez passed away on July 7, 2023 at her home in Lawrence, MA.
She was born on March 31, 1946, in Orocovis, Puerto Rico. Her late parents Alfredo Torres and Emerita Rivas de Torres loved her very much. She had 5 siblings; Alfredo Torres Rivas, Jr., Lucy Torres Rivas Ortiz, Milka Torres Rivas Lopez, and Uriel Torres Rivas, survived by 4, and loving cousins, aunts and uncles.
A woman devoted to God, she amplified holiness as a life-long singer, a preacher and an overall pure angel sent from heaven. She was a virtuous woman of prayer who exuded holiness. She was compassionate, helpful and an encouraging counselor to many of the lives she touched. Olga came from a pastoral home and was the wife of Reverend Elijah Gonzalez, whom she loved very much. She was an active member of the Free Methodist Church, where she assisted as a pastoral wife, was Secretary of the Evangelical Missionary Association Youth for Christ and worked greatly within the ministerial department.
She was the ideal wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She devoted most of her life spending time with her loved ones which included her 3 beloved grandchildren. Her interests included family, singing, crocheting and reading the Scripture.
Olga is survived by her husband, Reverend Elijah Gonzalez, her 2 sons, Elijah Gonzalez, Jr. and his wife Stephanie, their sons Noah and Jacobi, and Ezra Gonzalez and his daughter Angelina Marie.
Friends are invited to celebrate Olga’s life with visitation on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home Inc. 122 Amesbury St. Lawrence, MA 01841.
A Funeral Service will be held, Thursday, July 13, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Spanish Free Methodist Church, 774 Essex Street, Lawrence, MA 01841. Burial will follow at the Bellevue Cemetery in Lawrence
