Mrs. Eileen J. Legere's Obituary
Eileen "Barbs" (Golding) Legere, of Haverhill, MA., born in 1929 in Newton, MA., daughter of Gertrude Golding, died unexpectedly at her home Monday after a long illness. Eileen graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1947 and had worked in Insurance for many years. Eileen was the best friend and mother anyone could hope for. She had an extraordinary infectious zest and enthusiasm for life. Because of her easy going personality, empathy, and her approachability, she was able to offer good counsel and comfort to her many friends of all ages. Eileen loved life and had an encyclopedic recall of the details of her life and those she loved. Her many joys included music, especially big band and show music, dancing and old Hollywood. Eileen is survived by Her daughter: Jamie Legere cousins: Dr. Sheila Mahoney, James Mahoney, Jill Tozier, and Carl Journeay as well as several second generation cousins and many friends. She is also survived by her former husband Alfred Legere. Her son C. Scott Legere predeceased her in October of 2000.
