Merrilyn Alice Scharn's Obituary
Merrilyn Alice (Welch) Scharn, 74, a resident of Lawrence, Massachusetts, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024, at the Lawrence General Hospital.
Born in Woburn, MA to the late George P. and Lois V. (Gill) Welch, Merrilyn was educated in the Wakefield, Massachusetts Schools and was a graduate of Wakefield High School. She was a long standing member of the Bavarian Club. Merrilyn loved word search puzzles and playing three card bingo at the Bavarian Club. She also enjoyed playing card games with her kids and grandkids.
Merrilyn is survived by her husband of 53 years Harold V. Scharn, four children: Amy Scharn and her partner Matt Dube of Daytona Beach, FL, Jennifer Scharn of Lawrence, MA, Melissa Coombs and her husband Philip Coombs of Sandown, NH, and Daniel Scharn of Lawrence, MA. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Kristen, Sammantha, Thomas, Kaitlyn and Brooklyn, a brother Loring “Buddy” Welch, a sister Tina Curlis, as well as five greatgrandchildren and many nieces and nephew. Merrilyn was predeceased by her sister Deborah Bartnick and her brother Doug Welch.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA.
