Merrill M. Perkins, 82, of Methuen, died peacefully Wednesday September 24, 2014 in Lawrence General Hospital, Lawrence after being stricken ill. Merrill was born in Boston, MA on March 26, 1932, son of the late Merrill E. and Jea Read Obituary
Dear Mel's family - I was so saddened to read of Mel's death. It was just last week when he broke his hip that he and I spoke when he was in the hospital. I remember fondly so many years of his work at LGH, and wonderful personality. My prayers are with you all. Judi Ryan

Hello family, I just wanted to share a memory of mine that too seems to be one of many. Uncle as a security guard at the hospital. When we arrived at LGH at 4 in the morning Uncle recognized me waddling in the ER entrance.. He wheeled me right up to the labor and delivery floor. He was pretty quick about it, too. He said to the nurses, "take care of her, she's my niece." They smiled and said 'we sure will.' It was comforting to know that he was there with me and if the nurses gave me any trouble, I could call him. :) REST IN JESUS' SWEETLY BLESSED PEACE, UNCLE! I will always remember you with love. I am so sorry for your loss. Kathy, as you know I too lost my dad suddenly so I know exactly what you are going. I remember when I went to Lawrence General to have my 1st baby . Bill was very nervous, it was around 11 pm. We got there rang the bell and then your dad showed up to open the door. He told Bill where to park the car and what floor to next us on . Bill calmed right down lol . I was so grateful your dad was there that night .I will never forget it . My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this hard time . Love you
My dear father its Maryann I want to tell you about one of my fondest memory. When I would sit and watch you shave sticking your tongue in your cheek so you didnt cut your self then you would pat Old Spice on your face and then put the rest on my face. To this day I love Old Spice and I love you daddy.
