Maureen Ursula Mauser's Obituary
Maureen U. Mauser was born in the Yorkville section of Manhattan, the third of five children to
Patrick and Helena Murphy. Married to John G Mauser, who passed away in 2001, they raised a
son, John Mauser, and a daughter, the late Dawn Celentano.
While raising kids, she went to night school for more than seven years to obtain a B.A.
from Hunter College, and, later, a graduate degree from Lehman College. She spent her adult
lifetime teaching children in New York City Catholic and public schools, and even in retirement,
helping neighbors with homework.
In retirement, she loved learning Spanish and trips to Atlantic City with her beloved
siblings and spouse.
She is survived by her beloved sister, Helena Lee, son John, daughter in law, Ellen (née
O'Byrne) Mauser, son in law Anthony Celentano, and her four grandchildren of whom she was
so proud: Gregory, Christian, Keelin, and Marielle.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather for a Funeral Mass on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. in Saint Michael's Church, 196 Main Street, North Andover, MA.
