Maryann Higgins' Obituary
Maryann Higgins - “Age Is Just a Number”, on April 20, 1927 the world was blessed with Maryann (Uzko) Higgins. She was born to Joseph and Annie (Trokenck) Uzko. At 96 years mature, she passed away peacefully on June 2nd, 2023 in her Florida home surrounded by her loved ones.
Maryann was born in Lawrence Massachusetts and remained local to Methuen her whole life. She had a long and successful career at Raytheon. Along with maintaining her beautiful garden, Maryann enjoyed crafting, collecting, investing, and spending time with her many loving friends. She would always extend a hand to those in need and would frequently donate to various charities.
Although it is impossible to describe the depth of Maryann’s character, some of her most amazing qualities are her strength, independence, resilience, generosity, and incredible kindness. Despite all the challenges and hardships that life has thrown at her, she has always managed to not take life too seriously and always found joy and laughter in the moment.
Maryann has now joined her husband, Edward J. Higgins Jr., two sons, Edward J. “Buzzy” Higgins III and Shane Alan Higgins in heaven. She is also reunited with her parents Joseph and Annie as well as sisters Helen A. Manikas and Sophia Stempo. She is survived by many dear friends and loved ones.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you honor her memory by donating your time and kindness to those in need, whether it is buying the person in front of you a coffee, or showing compassion and kindness as best you see fit.
“We love you more”
