Mary M. (McDermott) Shea's Obituary
Mrs. Mary M. (McDermott) Shea, 88, of Andover, MA, passed away on Sunday, March 4th, 2007 at the Hannah Duston Nursing home in Haverhill, MA. She was the widow of the late William Shea and the daughter of the late Helen and George McDermott. She graduated from the local schools and business school in Michigan. She and her twin the late Marge Zajicek went into nurse training and later joined the Naval Hospital Corps. She was commended many times for the outstanding care she gave to our battle casualties and home coming POW's during World War II. Marie later became employed at the General Electric in Lynn, MA. in the Drafting and Engineering department. She was predeceased by her sister Margie Zajicek and her brothers Frank and George McDermott. Marie is survived by her brother John J. McDermott and his wife Stacia of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and her sister-in-laws: Alice McDermott of Groveland, MA., and Florence Linnahan of Methuen, MA., and brother-in-law: Leo Zajicek of Andover, MA., She is also survived by her nephews John J. McDermott and his wife Kelsa L. McDermott of Groveland, MA., Michael G. McDermott and his wife Nancy McDermott of Haverhill, MA and her great niece Krystle McDermott, Jodi Cobb and Emilie Winterton and her great great niece Georgia Emilie Cobb and many other family and friends. She will be missed by her family and her many friends. Her Funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 8th, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Augustine's Church in Andover, MA. Entombment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Chapel Mausoleum in Lawrence, MA.
