Dear David, Jude, Frank and all your siblings, Monica and I share your sadness and, more importantly, your joy in celebrating the life of your Mum. In learning the news of her death, our hearts are filled with such gratitude knowing she has been a dear friend to us for over twenty years. Sitting with her at the table in North Andover, talking about Edith Stein, conversing with her about politics while she was raking autumn leaves in the back yard --- such happy memories of a lady who knew who she was and helped others do the same. I still have one of the handmade wax candles she gave to me when my mother was dying sixteen years ago. We will light it in our home in loving memory of your Mum and Dad this Christmas Eve. So many years later, I still always smile thinking of your Mum when I walk past the "Starry, Starry Night" painting she painted for us for our wedding. Or when I read, "Mrs. Armitage --- Queen of the Road" to our 6-year old daughter, Elisa (and David's godchild) at bedtime. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. And may the angels lead her to Paradise. (In point of fact, I kinda think she'll be leading THEM, dancing out in front, keeping everyone else in line....!) Prayers and much love to all ---
