Mary F. Kochman's Obituary
Mary F. (Coleman) Kochman of Seabrook Beach, New Hampshire, the daughter of the late Harold E. and M. Adelaide (O'Sullivan) Coleman, passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 13, 2021 surrounded by friends and family. She was born November 11, 1947, in Lawrence, Mass. and attended both St. Mary's grammar school in Lawrence and St. Augustine's grammar school in Andover. Mary graduated from Andover High School in 1965 and graduated with a B.A. degree from Merrimack College in 1969. She also earned a Masters of Education degree from Lesley University in 1995.
Mary taught English at Timberlane Regional High School in Plaistow, New Hampshire for 5 years, and then taught English in the Gloucester, Mass. school system for 31 years, winning several awards for her outstanding work. After retiring from teaching, she loved to travel and took many cruises, visiting spots all over the world. She was an avid walker, and also enjoyed exercising, reading and gardening. Mary loved the ocean and the beach, and stayed close and connected to her Seabrook home.
Mary was married to Philip Kochman, who passed away in 2004. She leaves a brother, Edward F. and his wife Kathleen V. Coleman of Scarsdale, New York, nieces Julia F. Coleman and Emma O. Coleman, many other relatives and many more friends.
There will be a visitation hour on Tuesday January 19, 2021 from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, Mass., followed by a funeral service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that contributions may be made to the Mary Coleman Kochman Scholarship Fund at Merrimack College, 215 Turnpike Street, North Andover, Mass. 01845
