Mary Anne Garvey's Obituary
Mary Anne Garvey, 79, of New Smyrna Beach, FL and formerly Lawrence, MA passed away on February 16, surrounded by her loving family.
Mary Anne was raised in Andover, MA and was a member of the Andover High Class of 1959.
She was a dedicated member of St. Patrick Parish, Lawrence and later Sacred Heart Parish, New Smyrna Beach. She devoted much of her time to volunteering at church fairs, serving at the weekly breakfasts, and baking for various fundraisers. She was an active member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Women’s Association.
Mary Anne's other passions included hunting for antiques and treasures at local thrift and yard sales. The rest of her free time was spent playing cards. Always up for a game, she recently learned to play bridge by joining the local bridge club. Her favorite game was 45s and she did her best to teach the Merrimack Valley game to her Florida friends.
Mary Anne is survived by her husband of 51 years, Richard Garvey, her daughter Kelly (Garvey) Donovan and her husband, Peter, of Peabody, MA and her daughter Maureen Garvey of Lawrence, MA. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Carol Harding and Patricia Garvey, both of Hampton, NH. She is predeceased by her father, Harold Derbyshire, mother Rose Derbyshire MacInnis, and her step-father John MacInnis.
