Mary (Sidley) Dumond, 76, of Salem New Hampshire passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, on March 22, 2024, at the Holy Family Hospital, after a long struggle with health challenges..
Mary was the beloved wife of Richard Dumond with whom she shared 54 years of marriage. Loving mother of Jeffrey Dumond of Salem, NH and Jonathan Dumond of Lawrence, MA. Mary was born in Lawrence, Ma. She was the daughter of the late Walter A Sidley Jr and Dorothy Rita (McComiskey) Sidley. Loving sister of Walter A Sidley III and his wife Lucille of Salisbury, Katheen Nackley and her companion Thomas Sweeney of Salem, NH and the late John Sidley and his wife Judy of Kissimmee, Florida. Sister-in-law to Charles Dumond and his wife Karen of Falmouth, Maine. She leaves several nieces and nephews who enjoyed her laughter and spending Christmas at her festive home.
Mary grew up in Lawrence Ma and their family home at Salisbury Beach. It was there that she met the love of her life Richard Dumond. She graduated from Lawrence High, attended Northeastern University and became a X-ray technician at Bon Secours Hospital. While their children were young, she went back to school and became a RN. She worked for 30 years as a certified psychiatric nurse and alcohol counselor at Hampstead Hospital until her retirement. While still working she was proud of the fact that she became a Justice of the Peace in Salem, NH. For many years she was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and also the American Legion Auxiliary of Salem NH. Her love of the ocean was the catalyst for their annual trips to Indian Rocks Beach, Florida where they vacationed with the same group of great friends from all over the US, Canada and Europe.
Family and friends are cordially invited to call on Saturday, April 13th, 2024 from 10-11:30 a.m. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA. Her service will follow immediately after the calling hours at 11:30 a.m. in funeral home. Burial will be private and held at a later date.
