Mary T. DeFrancisco's Obituary
Mary T. DeFrancisco peacefully passed into eternal life surrounded by her husband and children on Sunday, June 13, 2021. Mary cherished her vocation as spouse, mother, and grandmother. She loved to entertain and celebrate with family and friends, and always had a cooler with her for impromptu gatherings whenever she travelled. A passionate fan of the Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins, and Michigan State basketball, she insisted on having at least one TV in every room to avoid missing any action. She was a fanatical fantasy baseball team owner, continually adjusting her daily lineups and making roster moves, and was proud to have won her league’s championships the past two seasons.
Mary was raised in North Andover by her parents Charles W. Trombly and Margaret R. (Shannon) Trombly with her seven brothers and two sisters. She was a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross, where she met her husband, and Suffolk University Law School. Mary was the First Assistant Register of Essex Probate Court for many years, where she took a special joy in facilitating the adoption of children. Furthering her love and care for children, she was a longtime board member of Community Day Care of Lawrence.
A devout Catholic, Mary was an active parishioner of St. Augustine Parish where, among other ministries, she served as a Eucharistic minister, coordinator of the RCIA program, and facilitator of faith-sharing programs. She was a Dame in the Order of Malta and was blessed to participate in the Order’s pilgrimage to Lourdes, France.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of forty-one years, Mark DeFrancisco, their daughter Jessica Henclewood, son Justin DeFrancisco, three grandchildren, Anthony, Raphael, and Mario Henclewood, son-in-law Dwayne Henclewood, daughter in-law Kristen (Brown) DeFrancisco, eight siblings, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded into eternal life by her son Martin DeFrancisco, with whom she is celebrating a joyous reunion.
ARRANGEMENTS: All are welcome to attend her calling hours from 3 to 7 pm on Friday, June 18th and her funeral Mass at noon on Saturday, June 19th, both at St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pregnancy Care Center, 496 Main Street, Haverhill, Massachusetts 01830.
