Marion F. (Weldon) Griffin's Obituary
NORTH ANDOVER - Marion F. (Weldon) Griffin, 92, died Saturday, September 22, at Prescott House. Born and raised in Lawrence, she graduated from St. Mary's High School and Burdett School of Business in Boston. She had been a North Andover resident since 1951 and was a longtime parishioner of St. Michael Church, where she was married in 1957. The daughter of Marion V. (Joyce) Weldon and Francis X. Weldon, she was the widow of Daniel J. Griffin. She leaves sons Daniel J. Griffin III of Greenwich, Conn., and daughter-in-law Elisabeth T. Griffin of Arlington, Mass.; and George Weldon Griffin and daughter-in-law Sara-Jane Griffin of North Reading, Mass. She also leaves five grandchildren: Johanna A., Andrew W. and James T. Griffin of Arlington, Mass.; and Mary-Alice R. and Catherine E. Griffin of North Reading, Mass.; and two half-sisters: Frances (Weldon) Gelber of Downingtown, Pa.; and Roberta (Weldon) Pipkin of Houston, Texas. The family wishes to thank the staffs of both Ashland Farm and Prescott House, in North Andover, for their compassionate and attentive care for Marion during her years there. ARRANGEMENTS: A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, November 24, at 10 a.m. at St. Theresa Church, 63 Winter Street (Route 62), North Reading, Mass. Interment will be private.
