Margaret Brady Martin's Obituary
On Friday, August 21, 2020, Margaret “Peggy” Brady Martin, 78, of Lawrence, MA had a sudden heart attack and died peacefully while holding the hands of her two sons and surrounded by the love of her family. She will be missed dearly by so many friends and loved ones including her sons Joseph Brady and wife Mary of Lawrence, MA, Shawn Brady of Methuen, Ma, daughter Kathy Brady of Berkeley, CA and brother Brian Hennessey and wife Ellen of New York. Peggy was looking forward to joining her son James Brady, her husband Joe Brady, her 2nd husband John Martin in heaven and we are comforted, knowing she is now by their side. One of Peggy’s greatest joys was being an adoring and indulgent Nana to her 8 grandchildren: Jessica, Joseph, Kiliegh, Lucy, Jack, Connor, Asher, Violet and Great Grandmother to Haley. Predeceased by her brother Arthur Hennessy.
Peggy was a devout Catholic and a lifelong member of Saint Patrick’s church of Lawrence. She was a woman of many skills and talents. She was educated in the Lawrence Public Schools, had a BA from the University of Lowell and a Masters in Special Education from Boston College. She was a caring and dedicated Special Education teacher for 40 years in Lawrence Public Schools and often proclaimed how much she loved her work with her students. To the delight of everyone, Peggy was a talented painter of both portraits and the traditional craft of Tole Painting. Friendship was very important to her and she held dozens of friends near and dear to her heart. She will be sadly missed by many.
